Here is a video made by Bel Son Productions. Carolyn Armstrong and Stephen Anunson have been filming a documentary that is scheduled to premier November 12th. Both musicians, they have volunteered teaching at various music schools throughout Haiti and their film focuses on the role of music education in Haiti, both before and after the tragedy that befell on January 12th, 2010.
We are excited to announce that Series 2 of the Fey 7 inches are now out and available for purchase. You can order yours now at the Fey site, or you can go by Reckless Records in Chicago, or the newly opened and unsuspectingly welcoming Bucket of Blood records and books. We’re honored to have the first ever recorded collaboration between tUnE-yArDs’ Merrill Garbus, and Thao Nguyen all over Side A. Side B contains the most Autumnal of Autumn jams, were that a genre, by White Hinterland joined by Portland rhymesmith Alexis Gideon.
These are again limited to only 300 copies, and all of the proceeds will be put towards purchasing instruments and equipment for the Holy Trinity School of Music in Haiti. Each record comes with an original art print (most of which you can view here). This is a great deal, and also is just like making a donation to musical education in Haiti. All of the money you spend on this record will be used to purchase instruments and equipment for the Ste. Trinite School of Music in Port Au Prince, which is continuing to rebuild following the earthquake that struck early this year.
Fey series 2 Available Now!
The first series is officially out and waiting to please your ears and warm your hearts. We had some wonderful artists contribute original prints for each record, making these little records extra special. We’ll have info and images of all the contributing artists soon. In the meantime, you can purchase your own copy by clicking here. We’ve already moved through a hundred of these discs so get yours before it’s too late!
We celebrated the Release with a great show at Ronny’s here in Chicago and at the Eagle Theater in Pontiac, MI. The Ragged Claws track is a special one that samples some cello from Benjamin Britten. We’re grateful that the Britten estate didn’t put up a fuss about it. Mike Noyce’s song is a landmark of its own. Having spent the past few years touring the world with Bon Iver, he’s been carefully crafting his own catalog of material that is sure to bloom into a something grand.
Most importantly, we are humbled and excited to be able to help out musicians in Port Au Prince. Music education in Haiti is as important now as it ever was before and your contribution will help ensure that it continues in spite of recent events. Check back here for updates on future installments and how the money we raise gets put to work.

Paul
